The Beauty

Annie’s birthday was one of the most incredible days of my life. There was beauty everywhere. There was light pouring through the windows of our hospital room that seemed to wrap us in warmth. There was an almost visible peace that surrounded our baby girl, and her light shone brightly on every face around her. Robert and I feel it is right to not only tell you about the beauty in that day, but to show you as well. Annie was such a precious gift who was meant to be shared, and we want to thank you all for letting us do so.

Almost all of these pictures were taken by the ah-mah-zing Sarah Thompson of Sarah Libby Photography in Oklahoma City. (http://www.sarahlibbyphotography.com/) The pictures of people other than Robert and myself holding Annie were taken by excited sisters with cell phones, so they may be a bit blurry, but are still incredibly beautiful. If any other pictures are blurry, I blame my hillbilly internet out here in Nowhere, Oklahoma.

***This video is a bit long, and I praise God for that. We have so many more precious moments captured than I ever could have hoped for.

  1. Oh Sweet Abbey……I will read this blog and watch this video at least a thousand more times if I’m lucky. To be a part of Annie’s life was one of the greatest gifts anyone has ever given me. Thank you!!! I love you!

  2. Robert & Abbey, it’s been a bit since we’ve spoken, but you and the girls never stray far from my thoughts & prayers. I pray for you all that God’s blessings and wisdom continues to shine through you and upon you. May baby Annie’s greatest lesson for all remain to be seen so that just as God’s greatest gift was his His only Son that saves all, may Annie’s greatest lesson lead to the same!

  3. I came across your blog after I gave birth to my baby girl Dylan…you amaze me. Everything you write amazes me, I often think of baby Annie and find myself weeping. You are one strong mama, with a great band of support. I’ve shared your story many times, and come back here many times to read your entries over and over. I recently heard the song “Sweet Annie” and now Every time it plays I think of your angel.
